You clip the badge onto your outfit, say the wake word (e.g., “AirMingle, start capture.”), and it listens, scans a QR code, records the conversation, extracts the person’s details and creates follow-up CTAs automatically in the mobile app.
The AirMingle mobile app works for both iOS and Android. The badge pairs over Bluetooth LE with your phone for seamless syncing of scans, transcripts and action items.

It includes a BLE SoC module (Nordic nRF52840), a top-edge camera (OV2640) for QR scanning, a MEMS microphone, sensors (accelerometer, ambient light), a 250-350 mAh Li-Po battery, E-Ink front display, USB-C charging bar, and a magnet-clip zone.
E-Ink consumes very low power when static, allowing the badge to show your name/QR without draining battery. It also gives a premium “badge” look and stays legible in bright lighting.
In typical usage (scanning 10–20 contacts + 1 hour of conversation capture + follow-ups), the badge is designed to last a full day of event use. It recharges quickly via USB-C.

No. AirMingle starts recording only when you issue a wake-keyword or the badge detects a QR scan. Your audio and contact data are encrypted and remain under your control.
Meeting recordings, contact info, transcripts and action items are stored locally in your mobile app and can optionally be backed up to cloud services you control.
